Price war vor allem in den 1950er- und frühen 1960er-Jahren erfolgreich. Einige seiner bekanntesten Hits waren "Lawdy Miss Clawdy", "Restless Heart", "Ain't It a Shame", "Just Because", "Stagger Lee" und "Personality". 1998 wurde Price in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
